Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy and manual therapy
Adjuvant therapy through gentle therapeutic massage with multiple benefits in the head-neck (cranio-cervical) areas. Indicated in reducing the following symptoms:
- headaches that include the temple area (temporal area)
- pain in the head, ear, temple or molars (if a dental cause has been ruled out)
- opening the mouth with difficulty, limited, with or without pain
- Mouth blockage in the closed or open position or difficulty in closing-opening
- malposition of the mandible or aberrant excursions of the condylar joints
- noises in the ear area when opening the mouth, speaking or chewing (soft popping, squeaking)
- muscle fatigue due to bruxism (grinding or clenching of teeth, nocturnal or diurnal)
This easy and pleasant therapy treats the muscle contractures that cause the symptoms described above.
As a rule, cranio-cervical contractures occur as a result of incorrect postures (in sleep or active state), imbalances in the skeletal and muscular systems that occur as a compensation for bad posture at work or school, but also as a result of incorrect dental posture.
In the absence of any anatomical defects of the temporomandibular joint, orthodontic treatment and physiotherapy can help relieve cranio-cervical pain and discomfort "as taken by hand"
